Stana Katic and Matt Bomer Headline DC’s Animated Justice Society Film

After more than 40 entries in the DC animated movie canon, the members of the Justice Society are finally about to star in their own feature film. Via The Hollywood Reporter, DC and Warner Bros. Animation have set the voice cast for Justice Society: World War II.

The new film reunites Matt Bomer with Stana Katic. Previously, Bomer and Katic lent their voices to Superman: Unbound in 2013 as Clark Kent and Lois Lane, respectively. This time, they are starring as two key members of the Justice Society: The Flash and Wonder Woman. Both actors have also played other DC characters in the past. Bomer currently appears as Negative Man on Doom Patrol (and also came pretty close to playing Superman in live-action in the early 2000s). Meanwhile, Katic voiced Talia al Ghul in Batman: Arkham City in 2011.

Bomer and Katic will be joined in the new film by a cast that features a handful of recognizable names. The roster includes Elysia Rotaru (Black Canary), Chris Diamantopoulos (Steve Trevor), Omid Abtahi (Hawkman), Matthew Mercer (Hourman), Armen Taylor (Jay Garrick), Liam McIntyre (Aquaman), Ashleigh LaThrop (Iris West), Geoffrey Arend (Charles Halstead/Advisor), Keith Ferguson (Dr. Fate), and Darin De Paul (Roosevelt).

Jeff Warmester, a veteran of several animated Marvel shows including Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers Assemble, is directing Justice Society: World War II. Former Supernatural scribes Meghan Fitzmartin and Jeremy Adams wrote the script. Recently, Adams also wrote the next DC animated film, Batman: Soul of the Dragon, which premieres later this month. Jim Krieg and Kimberly S. Moreau are producing the new movie.

Justice Society: World War II is currently without a release date.
