Never Have I Ever has a lot of elements working in its favor, including a special The Mindy Project reunion. It's well-known that Mindy Kaling created Never Have I Ever with her frequent collaborator Lang Fisher. It's, unfortunately, less commonly known that the duo previously worked together on The Mindy Project, marking a behind-the-scenes reunion on the teen show. However, there's also a The Mindy Project reunion partially on-screen due to Utkarsh Ambudkar's role as Devi's teacher Manish Kulkarni on Never Have I Ever. Ambudkar also played Mindy's younger brother Rishi Lahiri on The Mindy Project. Though Mr. Kulkarni and Rishi are supporting roles in both series, Mr. Kulkarni's role could become more influential than ever as Never Have I Ever heads into its penultimate and final seasons.
