Dr. Susan Storm is far and away the most powerful member of the Fantastic Four. She far outclasses the rest of the team in both raw strength and versatility, thanks to her powers to manipulate light and create force fields. Despite this, no writer has placed a definite limit on just what Invisible Woman can do with her invisible shields… until now.

Written by Ryan North with art by Humberto Ramos, Fantastic Four #1 finds the team lost in time and space. The quartet tried to challenge Doctor Doom, who is currently the emperor of the Earth. Unfortunately, even their combined power isn’t enough to counter Doom’s magic.

Invisible Woman finds herself alone in the far future. Specifically, the year 7,801,020,245 CE. She quickly realizes that the Earth is long dead and the sun is on the verge of exploding. As she ponders how to escape this predicament and wonders about the rest of the Fantastic Four, Sue also thinks about how her powers are the only thing saving her in a world with no atmosphere.
Invisible Woman’s force fields can block out all energy
While she mostly uses her powers to alter the visible light spectrum, Invisible Woman can do far more. The team mom of the Fantastic Four is capable of altering her force fields to block the full electromagnetic spectrum. This means she can shield herself from all forms of energy, including radiation, heat, and light.

However, Invisible Woman notes there are good reasons why she usually limits what energies she blocks. Chief among these is that she’d risk freezing herself solid if she made her shields too heat-resistant. Theoretically, this means she could bring an object to near Absolute Zero and stop all molecular motion almost instantly with a force field. This impossible physical feat firmly establishes Dr. Storm as the most powerful member of the Fantastic Four.
