Avengers: Doomsday Rumor Hints at Doctor Doom’s Plan in MCU Movie

A new Avengers: Doomsday rumor hints at what Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom could have in store for the movie and how a secret order could play a role.

What is the latest Avengers: Doomsday rumor?

During the latest episode of the Hot Mic podcast, John Rocha ended the show by detailing some new rumors he’s heard regarding the upcoming movie. He mentioned that firstly, he’s heard that Doctor Doom will have a “black order,” who Rocha describes as “a group of witches and wizards who are working for him.”

Rocha’s rumor led to some theories that Doom could be working with MCU magic users like Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, or others in some capacity. Rocha and Sneider then both noted that Steve Rogers and the Fantastic Four could play a role, with Rocha noting that The Fantastic Four and Doom seek Rogers’ help, while Sneider mentioned Rogers could be stuck in an alternate timeline due to the TVA.

While Rogers’ status remains up in the air, Doom’s association with magic users could hint at some big plans. Rumors have circulated that Doomsday will culiminate in a merging of timelines, leading to the potential creation of a “Battle World” in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars, which would feature a ton of heroes all coming together against Doom.

In order to achieve that goal, Doom would require a lot of magic. In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the ability to travel and move freely through the multiverse is shown as a tough one, so Doom could be looking to create an army strong enough to make his goals a reality.

So far, Avengers: Doomsday featured a massive, star-studded cast, including Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright’s Shuri/Black Panther, and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man.

More names for the upcoming movie include Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent/John Walker, Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing/Ben Grimm, Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer’s Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast, Lewis Pullman’s Bob/Sentry, Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm/Human Torch, David Harbour’s Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Winston Duke‘s M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen‘s Ava Starr/Ghost, and Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki.

Several X-Men characters are also coming back for the upcoming movie, including Patrick Stewart‘s Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen‘s Magneto, Alan Cumming‘s Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn‘s Mystique, James Marsden‘s Cyclops, and Channing Tatum‘s Gambit.
