Wonder Man Season 2 Update Is Great News for MCU Disney+ Show Fans

Marvel fans just received the best possible news ever concerning the future of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Wonder Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, Wonder Man centers around Abdul Mateen’s Simon Williams and Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery as they try to land roles in a remake of the film Wonder Man. The Disney+ series has been well-received by both critics and audiences, with Rotten Tomatoes noting a unified approval rating of 89%.

What’s the latest Wonder Man Season 2 update?

Although billed as a miniseries, fans have been hopeful that Marvel might renew Wonder Man, as well as some of its other Disney+ series, for second seasons. While nothing has been officially confirmed, reporter Brandon Davis recently teased that Marvel will be continuing Wonder Man’s story in the MCU.

The Wonder Man Season 2 update was teased by Davis in a post responding to influencer Matt Ramos, who was worried over the possibility that Shang-Chi and Wonder Man might not get proper sequels because Cretton — who directed both in the MCU — will be busy with the next Spider-Man trilogy.

“Wonder Man will get more,” assured Davis, suggesting that he knows when the character will appear again in the MCU, which could possibly be Wonder Man Season 2.

It’s been a long time coming for Wonder Man, which originally began production in April 2023, ahead of a planned late 2023 release window. However, the Hollywood strikes delayed filming by over a year and even caused the series to be almost scrapped for a tax write-off. The MCU series ultimately wrapped principal photography in April 2024.

A December 2025 release window was then announced by Marvel in October 2024, although even that didn’t hold for long, as a year later, the studio pushed Wonder Man to January 2026, so that it would not be competing with holiday programming.

Wonder Man is available to stream alongside the rest of the MCU on Disney+.
