What happened in One Piece Chapter 1186?
The previous chapter, titled “One More Time,” opens with Brook finding King Leuven lying on the ground with Shuri standing beside him. Meanwhile, Imu, in one of his forms, and a mysterious man are also in the room. Still under the Domi Reversi spell, Shuri tells Brook that “that person” is dead, referring to Leuven. Brook is annoyed by the way she addresses her own father.
Shuri then reveals that she was a celestial dragon and that the man sitting on the throne is her biological father. She explains that Leuven refused to hand her over to the World Government, which is why she killed him, ending the Esperia War. Seeing her condition, Brook confronts the man on the throne and asks what he did to her.
The man, who is revealed to be St. Manmayer Growlo, recognizes Brook from a previous encounter. He says that he had no reason to come to Esperia, but since the Great One wanted Shuri, he came to retrieve her. Before leaving, Shuri stabs Brook in the head. Surprisingly, he later wakes up and laments the loss of his king.
The chapter then shifts to the present, where Brook asks the others for help in saving Shuri, now known as Gunko. Without hesitation, everyone agrees to help and tries to figure out the best way to free Gunko from the ice.
Meanwhile, Luffy, with food still stuffed in his mouth, launches himself towards Imu. On the battlefield, Loki asks Imu why he wants to kidnap the children. Imu begins recalling events from 800 years ago, explaining that as long as they have the children, they can control everyone else in the kingdom. Loki doesn’t understand what Imu is trying to say and attempts to attack. But before he does, Luffy lands a massive punch on Imu’s face.
