Marvel is rumored to be developing Avengers 7 only for it to get bigger than ever. The film is supposedly a major crossover event set after Avengers: Secret Wars.
A new Marvel rumor teases the MCU’s next Avengers era after Secret Wars
Rumors of a post-Secret Wars Avengers film, titled Judgment Day, have been doing the rounds for a while now. Although it hasn’t been officially announced, Avengers 7 is supposedly based on the 2022 comic event A.X.E.: Judgment Day, written by Kieron Gillen and illustrated by Valerio Schiti.
In it, the Avengers, X-Men, and Eternals are pitted against one another. At the same time, a resurrected Celestial declares that all of humanity must prove its worthiness within 24 hours or face planetary judgment. This comes after the Eternals attack the mutant nation of Krakoa, following the discovery of a devastating truth about them, intervened by the Avengers to prevent all-out war. The Shi’ar Imperial Guard is also rumored to be introduced in the film, per James Mack.
This would mark the first large-scale team conflict of the post–Multiverse Saga era, potentially launching what fans are calling the Mutant Saga. The film is rumored to be in early development and is said to be part of Phase 7. Rumors also indicate that Marvel is planning its cinematic slate through 2032. That said, the comic event was met with a mixed reception. While it was praised for its scale, A.X.E: Judgment Day was criticized by some for its resolution.

Insider reports further indicate that the Russo brothers, who are helming Doomsday and Secret Wars, are in talks to direct Avengers 7. Two storylines are supposedly being considered, with the first one being based on the A.X.E.: Judgment Day comic event. The second storyline will be a story involving Annihilus and the Annihilation Wave, with ties to an upcoming Nova Corps Disney+ series.
Marvel Studios has yet to confirm or deny the aforementioned rumors.
