Patrick Stewart recently addressed retirement rumors in an interview with TV Insider. The legendary actor confirmed he has no plans to leave Hollywood after Avengers: Doomsday. Stewart acknowledged that roles become scarcer with age but remains committed to acting. He stated, “I can’t imagine ever officially ‘retiring.’ I’ll always and forever be an actor.”
The 85-year-old actor, who turns 86 on July 13, continues to take on diverse projects. He will voice a character in Riz Ahmed’s new series Bait. Stewart described the role as “voicing a pig’s head in Riz Ahmed’s brilliant new series Bait.” He also praised the experience of being “challenged by new work” at this stage of his career.
Beyond Avengers: Doomsday, Stewart has several upcoming projects in development. Netflix’s animated show Barbaric, based on a comic book series, features Stewart in its cast. Michael Bay will direct the adaptation, which also stars Sam Claflin alongside Stewart. These commitments further signal his continued presence in the entertainment industry.
Stewart first portrayed Professor X in 2000’s X-Men and has reprised the role multiple times since. His return in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness earned widespread praise from viewers.
