Questions surrounding Cassie Lang‘s future have resurfaced amid continued speculation about a Young Avengers project. Kathryn Newton on Cassie’s future post Avengers: Doomsday

While speaking with ScreenRant, Kathryn Newton was asked whether her return in Avengers: Doomsday could lead to more appearances as Cassie Lang. Without revealing any future plans, the actress focused on her excitement about reprising the role. “I’m just so excited to be in the movie. I love Cassie Lang. I loved Quantumania, and I love Ant-Man. I’m always going to be a fan of Marvel, so to be asked to be in it was just the best feeling. I can’t talk about it, but I’m excited!” she said.

Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce a Young Avengers film or series. However, studio president Kevin Feige previously indicated that the project is still being discussed. Speaking in July 2025, Feige said, “Potentially… In that case, it comes down to where’s the best story and where is the best strange alchemy. Who would be fun to see them with? Each other, because that’s what the Young Avengers are, but also mixing it up more” (via ScreenRant).

Cassie Lang has been previously mentioned as a likely member of Marvel’s next generation of heroes. The Marvels ended with Kamala Khan beginning to assemble a new team and identifying Cassie as one of the heroes she hoped to recruit. The animated series Marvel Zombies later featured several younger Marvel characters together, adding to speculation.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to come out on December 18.
