Russell Crowe is all set to team up with Priyanka Chopra Jonas for an upcoming science-fiction movie. Crowe, who is an Academy Award winner, will be getting paired with Chopra Jonas for the first time.
Reflecting on the cast finalized for Bluefly, the CEO of the Highland Film Group, Arianne Fraser, said in a statement, “We have a stellar cast led by Russell Crowe and Priyanka Chopra Jonas who will ignite the screen in this high-stakes, sci-fi thrill ride with layers of depth.”
Crowe has, till now, clinched three Oscar nominations. His impeccable performance in Gladiator won him the Oscar in the Best Actor category. Chopra Jonas, too, is an award-winning actor and producer. Interestingly, she is also a New York Times bestselling author. Her latest works include Prime Video’s The Bluff. Produced by the 44-year-old, the product debuted at number one worldwide.

Bluefly is directed by Nimrod Antal, who is well-known for his work in Predators. The trio of Carlyle Eubank, William Eubank, and David Frigerio will be writing the science-fiction thriller. The executive producers for the movie are Lia Buman, Guy Davies, RuthAnne Frigerio, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Jason Kringstein, Katie Leary, Scott Levenson, and James Norbury.
The official synopsis reads, “Deep in the Congo, a grieving UN translator is pulled onto a black-ops mission to recover a downed aircraft that isn’t supposed to exist. As a Special Operations team pushes upriver through militia-held territory, the recovery becomes a descent – and the closer they get to the craft, the clearer it becomes that they were never meant to bring it home.”
COO Delphine Perrier described the movie as a “heart-pounding entertainment with a complex story.” Perrier also confirmed that fans can surely expect sudden plot twists. The COO of the company also had some high praise for Antal’s direction alongside the acting skills of the cast. Perrier stated, “With Nimród Antal at the helm and our wonderful cast, we cannot wait to introduce this fantastic project to our global buyers.”
