Three fan-favorite Batman movies are scheduled to return to the big screens in late September as part of the Batman Day celebration. Warner Bros. Discovery shared an update on its plans for Batman Day 2026 on September 19.
Per the update, DC fans will be able to enjoy various fun activities, access exclusive products, experience gaming, and more. Additionally, they will also be able to experience three Batman movies in a limited theatrical rerelease. The LEGO Batman Movie, Batman (1989), and Batman: Mask of the Phantasm will be screened at AMC, Regal, Cinemark, and other select theaters worldwide.
Meanwhile, fans at home can also take part in the Batman Day celebrations. On September 20, 2026, TBS will air Batman-themed episodes of the popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory. Furthermore, TNT has plans to present Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy on September 19.
A new Batman movie is being released in theaters in 2028
The upcoming sequel, The Batman Part II, will revolve around Bruce Wayne fighting against corruption in a flood-damaged Gotham City. The plot for the next Robert Pattinson film, helmed by Matt Reeves, still remains under wraps.
In the 2022 release, The Batman, Pattinson was introduced as Wayne, aka Batman. It delved into how Wayne investigated corruption and faced the serial killer Riddler. Zoë Kravitz portrayed Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, and the movie also depicted the rise of Oswald Cobblepot, or Penguin.
Alongside Pattinson, the cast of The Batman Part II features Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon. Barry Keoghan is also rumored to come in as the Joker.
The Batman Part II is slated for release on February 18, 2028.
