Marvel’s Punisher Gets a Radically Different White Costume for His Next Mission

Marvels Punisher is getting a major change for his next mission. Frank Castle will wear a new white tactical suit in a special December issue set in a snowy New York.

Artist Declan Shalvey revealed that he is illustrating and coloring Punisher #12, written by Benjamin Percy. The issue will be completely dialogue-free, making it a “silent” story told entirely through its artwork to convey Castle’s latest mission.

Sharing the new look on Instagram, Shalvey wrote, “This December, I’m drawing/colouring a silent issue of PUNISHER [12] written by @benjamin.percy and have designed a new costume for the story.” He also shared a look at the fresh costume on his Instagram story.

What should Marvel fans expect from the Punisher silent issue?

The issue is titled ‘White Out’ and centers on a massive blizzard hitting New York City. Marvel’s solicitation describes a winter landscape in which the snow becomes part of Castle’s violent mission. The comic issue also promises a new costume for the Punisher.

The white design reflects the story’s snowy setting. Its lighter color should make Castle visually different from his usual dark tactical appearance. Shalvey is also responsible for the issue’s colors, allowing him to shape the scenario through them.

The silent format puts extra focus on visual storytelling. Without dialogue, readers will have to follow Castle’s actions, surroundings, and movements through the artwork.

Punisher #12 continues Benjamin Percy’s current Marvel series, which launched in February 2026. Percy’s run follows Frank Castle as he deals with damaged memories while hunting criminals and facing Jigsaw.

Shalvey has previously worked on Marvel titles including Punisher, Moon Knight, and Deadpool.

Shalvey has also been developing the project for months, sharing work-in-progress pages from “PROJECT WHITEOUT,” without revealing its connection to Punisher.

The special issue is scheduled to arrive on December 23, 2026, fitting the story’s winter setting.
