Deborah Ann Woll responded to the news that Daredevil: Born Again will end after its third season. The actress, who plays Karen Page, shared a message on Facebook following The Hollywood Reporter’s exclusive report. “Enjoy the last season, guys! We worked really hard on it. Grateful for you,” Woll wrote.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed the upcoming third season will serve as the show’s final chapter. The decision arrived roughly two months after Season 3 wrapped filming. Marvel Studios also quietly parted ways with showrunner Dario Scardapane during postproduction.
Scardapane’s contract expired and Marvel chose not to renew it. His departure leaves the show without a clear leader in its final postproduction stages. One source told THR that postproduction is nearly complete.
Season 2 saw Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, land in prison. The show centers on Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D’Onofrio, rising to become New York’s mayor. Fisk then targets Daredevil and other vigilantes standing in his way.
Born Again has faced a turbulent production history since Disney+ revived the franchise. Marvel originally greenlit the show in July 2022 for an 18-episode season. The 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes forced a creative reset that replaced original head writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord.
Scardapane then joined as showrunner after previously working on Marvel’s The Punisher at Netflix. Directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead also came aboard as executive producers. The studio split the initial order into two seasons totaling 17 episodes.
Marvel Television has scaled back its Disney+ output in recent months. The studio’s next series, VisionQuest starring Paul Bettany, debuts in October. Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is expected to premiere in 2027.
