Bizarre MCU Concept Art Reveals Kaiju Monster Cut Out of Popular Ant-Man Movie

Newly revealed Marvel Cinematic Universe concept art has unveiled an unexpected creature cut from the third installment in the Ant-Man trilogy. The bizarre designs show a massive Kaiju-esque monster originally intended to terrorize the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The unused creature design was highlighted by fan account @cosmic_marvel on X, alongside details revealing the terrifying monster was “one of M.O.D.O.K.’s experiments, created in his image and intended to be unleashed upon the Quantum Realm.”

The photos attached appear to be of a Kaiju-esque character, which could have become a part of the film’s quantum realm had the masterminds behind the 2023 flick agreed on keeping it. Looking at it, fans in the comment section can’t help but express it to be a further reason why “Quantumania is the MCU’s biggest failed opportunity.”

Concept art reveals a side of the Quantum Realm audiences never saw

As concept artist J.S. Marantz explained on Instagram alongside multiple designs of the Kaiju-like creature that was left on the cutting room floor: “This sequence was cut from the film, but it was so much fun designing a creature that Modok would unleash on the quantum realm. He was supposed to be one of his experiments, kind of made in his image.”

Had the creature remained in the theatrical cut, M.O.D.O.K. would have possessed a monstrous henchman of his own, ramping up the scale and danger of the Quantum Realm battle sequences.

For those unversed, M.O.D.O.K. was revealed to be the first Ant-Man’s villain, Darren Cross, complete with actor Corey Stoll’s massive CG face. Apparently, Cross had somehow managed to survive, but only as a giant head with baby arms and legs.

Either way, removing the Kaiju-esque character really turned out to be a missed opportunity for Marvel, and fans aren’t hesitating to let the superhero franchise know that.
