Paul Bettany is getting candid about the central theme of his upcoming highly anticipated show, VisionQuest. Speaking about the Marvel series, the actor also reflected on his nearly two-decade journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In a new clip released by @MarvelStudios on X, Bettany said near the end that the main purpose/theme of this upcoming show is “What’s my purpose, and who am I?”
He also reflected on his past 18-year-long journey in the MCU, originally joining the cinematic saga as the voice of JARVIS on the Iron Man film series. Bettany also talked about how his initial casting led to VisionQuest.
“The director rings me up and says, ‘Paul, I’ve got this part of the voice inside Tony Stark’s suit. He needs somebody with no personality whatsoever. I thought of you,’ and I immediately said yes. So they decided to make me real and become Vision,” he said in the clip.
Bettany continued, “For them to then become Wanda Vision, it really was one of the highlights of my career. I loved it. To finally have my own show.”

In the clip, alongside detailing his MCU journey as J.A.R.V.I.S. and Vision, Bettany teased his return in Marvel Television’s VisionQuest. The video, running just over a minute, featured archival clips of Vision throughout his MCU journey.
Talking about his character in his new standalone series, Bettany said, “Very different energy. He’s always in a state of change. He’s figuring out who he is. It’s a really new exploration of Vision. That’s the heart of the show.”
The fans in the comment section also praised the visuals of this upcoming show, with one saying, “Some of the visuals in this series look amazing.” Another commenter wrote, “Vision getting his own series still feels so surreal! I really wanna see what they do with his story now…”
VisionQuest begins streaming on Disney+ on October 14.
