The debate over Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three has been going on for a while, and now a popular pizza chain has joined the conversation. The company’s latest comparison of the two highly anticipated movies is drawing backlash from MCU fans.
The online exchange began after the official UK account for Domino’s Pizza posted “Dune > Doomsday” on X. The playful comparison quickly caught moviegoers’ attention, prompting some Marvel fans to strike back by declaring Pizza Hut superior.
One fan, @HokiZoltan666, replied with “Pizza Hut > Domino’s,” and @sahiiltagore replied with the same. @MyGJesusYT also wrote, “Booooooooo Pizza Hut > Domino’s.” The repeated replies quickly became the central joke in the exchange.
However, the post may be a playful take on the release-day rivalry rather than a real opinion about the upcoming blockbuster films.
Beyond comparing pizza chains, some superhero fans took aim directly at the brand. @MediaMobHQ and @heref0rNTR both told Domino’s to “Stick to the pizza,” while @OttosTrueLove wrote, “your pizza isn’t good enough to be saying sh*t like this lmfao.”
Other commentators expressed outrage over the post, with @Osahoo123 writing, “You want me to hate you.. it worked, buddy.” @fizz_nandamuri argued that Avengers: Doomsday could outperform Dune: Part Three, writing, “Doomsday North America Day 1 >>> Dune 3 Days Worldwide Collections.”
The exchange reflects the online conversation surrounding the December 18 release clash, which fans have nicknamed “Dunesday.” Dune: Part Three has also secured an exclusive three-week IMAX window in North America, leaving Avengers: Doomsday without IMAX screenings in the region during that period. The latter is expected to screen in IMAX in select international markets, including China, although availability varies by market.
With both films scheduled to open on the same day, fans continue to debate which blockbuster will draw the bigger audience.
