Marvel has kicked off the final stretch of promotion for Avengers: Doomsday, which reaches theaters next month. A batch of new standee art now gives fans the clearest look yet at what Red Guardian, the Fantastic Four and other heroes will wear on screen.
Doomsday photos reveal New Avengers and Fantastic Four’s suits
Red Guardian draws the most attention. According to HEX Facility on Twitter, his outfit stays close to the one from Thunderbolts, with only small changes. The biggest is an “A,” standing for the New Avengers, now sitting inside the star on his chest.
The standee shows him beaming in a deep red armored suit with a layered chest plate, a gold-trimmed collar, a belt with pouches, and padded knees. The armor looks sharper than before, and the goofy pose fits his bragging streak.
Then, Bucky Barnes appears in a matte black tactical suit with a segmented harness, thigh pouches, and bulky knee guards. He also carries a small A on his chest. His metal arm picks up a new detail, with gold lines running through the dark plating.
On the other hand, Yelena Belova, the Black Widow, goes green. Her jumpsuit has a textured, striped surface and extra padding on the knees and shins. She holds two black batons, carries a holstered sidearm, and has a tiny red hourglass-style mark on her shoulder. Compared with her older costumes, this one feels tougher and more military.
Fans have noticed that the Fantastic Four team’s suits now include a jacket. Mister Fantastic’s suit has one arm stretched toward the viewer with an enlarged, oversized fist in the foreground, a nod to the character’s elastic powers.
Compared with the other Fantastic Four looks, this one has a more casual, jacket-style design that feels like a modern reinterpretation of the classic uniform. On the other hand, The Thing wears a blue and white outfit and chunky white boots.
The two-tone design leans retro and stays faithful to the comics. Furthermore, Invisible Woman wears a fitted blue bodysuit under a paneled vest in several shades of blue, with the 4 emblem on the chest. A see-through blue force-field bubble surrounds her hand, and the overall style looks sleeker and more modern than the classic uniform.
With Avengers: Doomsday around the corner, expect more promo art and character reveals in the coming weeks.
