While out promoting his new film PRIMETIME, Robert Pattinson was asked by GAMES RADAR about Steven Soderbergh stepping in to finish filming on THE BATMAN PART II while director Matt Reeves deals with a personal family issue. Here’s what he said:
I am so happy he’s come on to help Matt. It’s incredibly generous of him – and he’s doing it in the loveliest way. It’s completely selfless.
I think Matt had put so much work into the script, and we’re almost done. So, for someone to come in and say, ‘I just want to help Matt do it; I want to do it in conjunction with him and just get it to the edit.’ And to have someone who’s as talented as Steven doing it is great.

I agree with everything RP said here. Soderbergh is a bigtime filmmaker. For him volunteering to finish filming (it’s about 3/4 complete) without injecting anything creatively into it and not getting an official credit is indeed selfless.
Pattinson also said that production on THE BATMAN PART II had restarted and he would be back on set “in a couple of days.” – Bill “Jett” Ramey
