And the praise for what Matt Reeves is cooking up with THE BATMAN PART II continues from those involved.
In this case, it’s The Batman himself, Robert Pattinson…again.
Here’s what he had to say to COLLIDER (while doing press for PRIMETIME) about the script and reiterates how PART II feels different from the original:
It’s so ambitious. I mean, I sort of said the other day on something that the first one was a different take on a Batman movie, and this one is another… It’s a real left turn from the first one, but somehow it keeps elements of the kind of feel of it. But it just feels really ambitious, and I’m excited to see how it turns out.
I’ll say yet again how much I appreciate that Reeves is not simply regurgitating what he did in THE BATMAN — that would’ve been the easy thing to do especially is this day and age — and is attempting to make something special.

RP wasn’t done:
When you see it, the script is incredibly dense, and it’s like he’s just one of those directors who it’s really obvious that he has the entire thing in his head already, and so it’s unusual to be working with someone when you keep forgetting with little elements. There’s so much in it that it’s almost impossible to encompass the whole thing, but when you keep finding out, you’re like, ‘Oh, no, you know exactly what you want to do with this.’ There’s just something so cool about it.
Again, this speaks to the greatness of Reeves. The dude has the whole movie in his head and how he wants it to look and feel, so he’s able to supply the cast and crew the little, nuanced things that certainly will make something really special.
I’ll now let y’all go back to enjoying the ride (hopefully)…or continuing to be hung up on the time between movies and who will be cast as the DCU Batman (hopefully not).
