I haven’t seen Robert Pattinson’s new film PRIMETIME, but I guess there are some people who are comparing his performance as Chris Hanson to The Joker. Not sure how fans on social media could come up with that since the movie premieres today (September 25, 2026), so I guess they’ve come to this conclusion simply based on promos and trailers. Anyway, ENTERTIANMENT WEEKLY actually asked RP about it and here’s what he had to say:
Oh, Jesus. I mean, it’s such a great part…but Barry’s the man!
The “Barry” he’s referring to is Barry Keoghan who plays the “Unseen Arkham Prisoner”, AKA the dude who will eventually become The Joker in Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA. In the film, we’re introduced to the future Joker in a short scene in Akrham alongside the newly incarcerated Edward Nygma (Paul Dano). However, Pattinson and Keoghan did film a fairly extensive scene together that didn’t make the final cut of THE BATMAN, which Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. later released. Check it out:
Fantastic! Very well-written and one of the Best Batman/Joker confrontation scenes on film ever. Shame it didn’t make the final cut, but I 100% get why Reeves didn’t include it in THE BATMAN‘s final cut. Pattinson is a fan of the scene as well:
I loved doing that scene with him so much. I love Barry as well. I think he’s such a phenomenal actor. It was so fun doing that stuff with him. But yeah, I want him to do it. I’m much more interested in that.
So, will Barry Keoghan return to the SAGA as The Joker? No official word yet, but I’m very sure we’ll see him again at some point. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
