Hello there. Welcome to the April 2026 edition of the world-famous BOF Mailbag! If you’re reading this, you’re likely a longtime BOF’er, so a BIG thanks to y’all for being with me for 28 years come June.
Wait, what?! 28 years?
Yes.
TWENTY. EIGHT. YEARS.
Wow.
And what a BLAST it has been!
Now, on to the questions! – Bill “Jett” Ramey
Do you think THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA will have a definitive ending like THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY?
JETT SAYS: Actually, no.
I’m thinking the SAGA ends with Bruce Wayne becoming both the fully-formed Batman and (well-adjusted) Bruce Wayne we all know and love. Matt Reeves will let the audience continue the story in their heads afterwards.
Are we getting a Catwoman [HBO series] ala THE PENGUIN?
JETT SAYS: There’s no doubt in my mind that it hasn’t been discussed at some point. Perhaps something with Selina in Blüdhaven? It’s why Zoe Kravitz isn’t in THE BATMAN PART II because her character just left Gotham for that city at the end of THE BATMAN PART I. And if you’ve been playing along at home, THE BATMAN PART II takes place not long after the end of THE PENGUIN, which took place immediately after THE BATMAN PART I.
Why do you think Reeves has been silent when it comes to TB2 castings? We know who is in the movie already but I need those gifs!

JETT SAYS: I believe that he’s very proud of the script and doesn’t want to give anything away story-wise. I’ve said before that he’s the most fan-friendly Batman film director in the age of social media, so while he may be playing things closer to the chest this time around, I suspect he’ll drop a few tidbits for us as THE BATMAN PART II begins filming.
SUPERGIRLS’s box office projections range from $300M to $600M. Do you think it will be as successful as SUPERMAN, fall a little lower, or flop? If it doesn’t meet expectations, how do you think this will affect the DCU’s longevity?
JETT SAYS: Man, I don’t know…box office predictions aren’t my area of expertise. If I had to make a guess, I’d say it will not make as much as SUPERMAN, and I certainly don’t think it’s going to be some massive hit. With that said, I hope it does well enough to please whoever needs to be pleased by its box office (and critical) performance. All I know is that Krypto is in it, and I’ll be there for the damn dog!
What’s your favorite Clayface story or appearance?
JETT SAYS: Honestly, it’s the episode from BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER — the new and latest animated Batman series — featuring Clayface, “…And Be a Villain.” Comic book-wise, Clayface stories never interested me since I’m a fan of the “grounded” version of Batman and villains that aren’t fantastical.
I finally saw the Elvis movie. Wow! It’s filmed so much like a comic book film with music and dancing as his super power. What do you think about Austin Butler as DCU Batman? He looks like Kilmer, prepares like Bale, and is an emerging star with Miami Vice and Heat 2 upcoming.

JETT SAYS: You just saw ELVIS 4 years after release? Shame! 😂
I’ll say this: The only actor that I currently care about being Batman is the one that currently has the role: Robert Pattinson. I’ll get to the next Batman on film when the time comes.
But I am a big fan of Austin Butler. He was fantastic in ELVIS as…um…Elvis, and he’s got a BIG future ahead of him. Perhaps there will be some superhero or supervillain shenanigans for him down the line.

During the summer months, what do you set your thermostat on during the day, and what do you adjust it to at night?
JETT SAYS: LOL! 68 at night and 72ish during the day.
Seeing as THE DARK KNIGHT is often said to be better than its predecessor, BATMAN BEGINS, do you have the same expectation for THE BATMAN PART II in surpassing its predecessor?
JETT SAYS: Absolutely…I expect it to be epic!
Who is your favorite live action Batman and why
— lawrence (@TurneyLawr37994) April 23, 2026
JETT SAYS: Adam West will always be special to me because he was my “first Batman.” But Christian Bale is my favorite live-action Batman of all time…to date. Why? Well, not only was he great as Batman/Bruce Wayne, but he played those roles in arguably one of the greatest cinematic trilogies of all time.
With that said, Robert Pattinson and THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA may give Bale and the TRILOGY a run for its money when all’s said and done.
Who, from recent casting announcements, are you most excited to see in THE BATMAN PART II and why?
JETT SAYS: This is a tough question because I’m excited for all the new additions to the cast. But if I had to pick one (dammit!) I’ll go with Scarlett Johansson. Really intrigued with what Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin cooked up for her with Gilda Dent. She did not take this role just to be Harvey Dent’s wife. Could she end up being the “Main Villain?”
Although DC Elseworlds, especially The Batman Epic Crime Sage, is most exciting, does ‘Clayface’ make 3 in a row as far as DCU films that interest you? #BOFmailbag
— Meditation (@Meditayshun) April 23, 2026
JETT SAYS: Yeah, THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA is by FAR what I’m interested in DC-wise from Warner Bros./DC Studios. I thought SUPERMAN was OK-plus, but I’m sorta meh on SUPERGIRL to be honest (except for Krypto being in it…LOVE Krypto!). When it comes to CLAYFACE, yeah, I’m interested due to it being a non-superhero horror film. I’m not sure that it’s been 3 in a row for me when it comes to DCU movies in terms of “excitement,” though.
