Tom Holland Reveals Spider-Man Saved The Guardians of the Galaxy In Infinity War Deleted Scene

While promoting Spider-Man: Far From Home, Tom Holland reveals a cool deleted scene from The Avengers: Infinity War featuring Spidey, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy and Thanos.

While telling IMDb that his favorite female MCU character is Karen Gillan’s Nebula (mine, too), Tom Holland recounts how he filmed a scene with Doctor Strange for Infinity War that involved Thanos nearly killing the Guardians of the Galaxy.

“There was a scene in Infinity War that actually didn’t make the edit. It didn’t make the edit and it was basically Thanos like snapped his fingers or something and all the Guardians became astral forms and then I had to try and grab all their bodies and put them back in the astral form,” Holland revealed. “And, at one point, they’re all lying down on the floor, all the Guardians, and Karen fell asleep because she was so tired for being up so early all the time [for the Nebula makeup].”

Infinity War: Doctor Strange tells Spider-Man to save the Guardians of the Galaxy

Interestingly enough, back in 2017, an image leaked online (see below) from The Avengers: Infinity War showing Doctor Strange and Spider-Man together, with Doctor Strange telling Spidey, “Peter! Protect them. They’re not dead.”

At the time, no one had any idea what Doctor Strange meant, but now apparently we see Doctor Strange was trying to have Spider-Man save the Guardians of the Galaxy when Thanos used the Infinity Stones to remove their spirits.

Regarding why the scene may have deleted, obviously The Snap at the end of Infinity War may have had something to do with it, as Thanos erasing half the universe and the Avengers was a bigger moment than if Thanos first snapped away the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Pretty cool.
