‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Gabriel Luna Is Ready To Return As Ghost Rider

Agents of SHIELD and The Last of Us star Gabriel Luna is ready to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ghost Rider.

Gabriel Luna made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ghost Rider in the fourth season of Agents of SHIELD. Specifically, he portrayed the Robbie Reyes version of the character who bonded himself with a demon after being fatally injured in a gang shootout. Throughout the first half of the season, the character went back and forth between being an ally and an antagonist. The character was reportedly cut from the series due to budget concerns but did make an appearance in the show’s season finale.

Since then, Gabriel Luna’s version of Ghost Rider has been absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At one point the actor was set to star in his own Hulu project but the decision was made not to move forward with the series. More recently, rumors and theories have been emerging that Marvel Studios will be bringing back a version of Ghost Rider to the MCU in the near future. Specifically, many have been wondering if The Walking Dead star, Norman Reedus, is up for the role. However, Gabriel Luna isn’t backing down from his role as Ghost Rider just yet.

In a recent post, digital artist Boss Logic posted an image of Gabriel Luna as Ghost Rider in support of the actor’s return to the role. Luna then responded with #stayreadysoyoudonthavetogetready. You can see the full post below:

As previously mentioned, Gabriel Luna starred as Ghost Rider in the fourth season of Agents of SHIELD for multiple episodes. This version of Robbie Reyes was granted the Spirit of Vengeance’s powers after sustaining fatal injuries in a gang shootout that also left his younger brother paralyzed. With his newfound powers, Gabriel Luna’s Ghost Rider exacts revenge on the gang members who wounded his brother and other people he believes deserve his wrath. Eventually, Gabriel Luna’s Ghost Rider crosses paths with a self-exiled Daisy Johnson and later assists the S.H.I.E.L.D. team in defeating a supernatural threat.
