Bill Murray confirmed his villainous role in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Marvel Studios’ upcoming slate of films and Disney Plus original series for the next two years looks to be one for the ages. The direct connections between both the big screen adventures and the small screen stories are closer than ever, and one of those elements is being seen through the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. With the appearance of Jonathan Majors, who was last seen in Loki, it is yet another case of more connections between both the big and small screens.
One of the film’s more intriguing elements revolved around the role of comedic legend Bill Murray. The Academy Award-nominated actor will be making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for what looks to be an exciting opportunity for him. Now, we have official confirmation from Bill Murray himself about the nature of his role.
In an appearance on The Eli Manning Show, Bill Murray briefly touched on his role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Although no specific details regarding his character’s identity have been revealed, when asked about his superpowers, all he said was that he was playing “a bad guy.”
Given the comedic nature of the previous two films, it appears that Bill Murray would make an interesting fit for the tone of the sequel. Even as a villain of sorts, it would be interesting to see him play up the comedy in the role, especially if he shares scenes with the titular heroic duo of the film.
Directed by Peyton Reed from a script written by Jeff Loveness, the film stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, Jonathan Majors and Bill Murray.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters on July 28, 2023. Stay tuned to continue for all the latest news on the upcoming film, as well as Bill Murray’s role in it, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
