Elizabeth Olson’s ‘WandaVision’ Confirmed To Debut In 2020

The Disney Plus series is still set to be released this year.

Elizabeth Olson’s upcoming Disney Plus series, WandaVision is still set to be released this year according to a new statement from the company.

Since the coronavirus pandemic began to spread across the world, the film industry was forced to all but shut down. Because of this, the release dates of many of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installments have been shuffled and/or delayed which has included the upcoming Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The state of Elizabeth Olson’s upcoming series, WandaVision, however, has been the subject of some debate.

The show reportedly resumed production earlier this month but it was not clear how much work needed to be done on the upcoming film. Other reports had indicated that the Disney Plus series would be released sometime in the spring of 2021 but now Disney itself seems to be saying otherwise. In an official press release, Disney celebrated the one year anniversary of its new streaming service, and stated that Elizabeth Olson’s WandaVision would be one of the series to debut later this year:

With the first anniversary of Disney+ on November 12, the service will kick off its second year with even more original entertainment premiering in late 2020 including WandaVision, the upcoming original series from Marvel Studios.

Here is the official synopsis for WandaVision:

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

Directed by Matt Shakman with Jac Schaeffer as head writer, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, and Kathryn Hahn in an undisclosed role.

WandaVision is set to premiere on Disney Plus in 2020. Stay tuned for all the latest news on WandaVision and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
