Former Spider-Man Actor Andrew Garfield Calls Tom Holland The Perfect Peter Parker

Former Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield calls Marvel Tom Holland the perfect Peter Parker.

Back in 2012, Andrew Garfield was the first actor to take over the role of Spider-Man following the departure of Tobey Maguire and series director Sam Raimi. The movie that resulted was The Amazing Spider-Man which received mixed to positive reviews and earned enough money to justify a sequel. The following film, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 received a less warm reception and while it wasn’t a flop it did not earn as much money as Sony was hoping for.

Following the film’s reception, Sony cut a deal with Disney and Marvel Studios to allow a version of Spider-Man to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The result was Tom Holland’s version of Spider-Man who first appeared in Captain America: Civil War before appearing in his own films. Many rumors have surrounded his latest film, Spider-Man: No Way Home which includes Willem Dafoe returning as Green Goblin and both Toey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s versions of the character appearing in the film. Since these rumors started, Garfield has maintained that he is not in the latest Tom Holland film, calling recently surfaced images of him on the set photoshopped. He has not been quite, however, about what he thinks of Tom Holland as Peter Parker.

Even before appearing in Captain America: Civil War, Andrew Garfield was excited to see Tom Holland in the role and to be an outside fan of the franchise once again. In a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, he went even further with this calling him the perfect Peter Parker and Spider-Man. You can see the full interview below:
