‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ EPCOT Ride To Feature Returning MCU Character

The upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction coming to EPCOT will feature the return of this MCU character.

Walt Disney Imagineering and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn collaborated on yet another attraction based on the beloved cosmic team of the MCU. Following the success of Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure, a new roller coaster titled Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open at EPCOT in Summer 2022.

Similar to how Mission: BREAKOUT! brought along Guardians of the Galaxy cast members from the to bring the attraction to life, they will also be involved in EPCOT’s Cosmic Rewind. You can expect to see the core members of the team involved, but we will also be reacquainted with an MCU character that hasn’t been seen since Vol. 1: Nova Prime, played by Academy Award-nominee Glenn Close.

During Destination D23, a special announcement video regarding the new EPCOT attraction featured Glenn Close in her Nova Prime outfit, teasing the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. You can check it out down below:

This new Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster at EPCOT is just the latest MCU-based attraction from Walt Disney Imagineering. Earlier this year, Avengers Campus opened up at Disney California Adventure, which featured a brand new 3D attraction, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, with Tom Holland reprising his role as Peter Parker.

Following his brief removal from directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn moved over to Warner Bros. and DC Films to write/direct The Suicide Squad, which also spawned the upcoming spinoff HBO Max series Peacemaker. James Gunn was reinstated into the director’s chair, and along with that upcoming film, a new Holiday Special along with this hotly-anticipated EPCOT attraction are on the way. It’s safe to say it’s an exciting time for these beloved characters.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter and Chukwudi Iwuji.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently set to hit theaters on May 5, 2023. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming MCU film, the Holiday Special and the new EPCOT attraction, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
