A new featurette goes behind the scenes on the hilarious opening credits to James Gunn’s Peacemaker series.
Peacemaker is currently hitting HBO Max every Thursday, and one of the biggest highlights of the show for many is its opening credits set to Wig Wam’s “Do Ya Wanna Taste It.” Peacemaker‘s opening credits are just one of the elements that make the comic book TV series so unique since many modern shows scrap opening credits altogether.
With the series four episodes in, HBO Max has released a behind-the-scenes featurette showing us how they pulled off that hilarious opening. We also get to hear from James Gunn, John Cena, various other stars from the series, and the dance choreographers who reveal the inspiration for the movements. You can watch the behind-the-scenes reel below.
Here is the synopsis for James Gunn’s Peacemaker:
PEACEMAKER explores the continuing story of the character that John Cena reprises in the aftermath of executive producer James Gunn’s 2021 film The Suicide Squad – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it!
Peacemaker was created by James Gunn, who wrote all the episodes and directed five of them. The first season of the HBO Max series will consist of eight episodes, with Brad Anderson, Jody Hill, and Rosemary Rodriguez also directing episodes. Clint Mansell and Kevin Kiner also composed the DC show’s score.
The HBO Max series stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Chukwudi Iwuji, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick.
Peacemaker is now streaming on HBO Max, with new episodes dropping every Thursday. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding James Gunn’s upcoming projects, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
