New ‘Godzilla’ MonsterVerse Series In The Works At Apple TV

A new Godzilla Titans MonsterVerse series is currently in the works for Apple TV.

The Godzilla MonsterVerse is a franchise that has hardly been what anyone would call consistent in quality or success. The first film in the series, Godzilla, was released to mostly positive reception from critics and managed to earn well over $500M on a $160M budget. Its first follow-up, Kong: Skull Island was likewise well received by critics and earned over $566M on a $185M budget. Then, however, things began to get rather complicated.

The next installment MonsterVerse film, Godzilla: King of Monsters, was notably detested by critics and was a box office dud, only earning $386M on a $170M budget. Its follow-up, Godzilla vs Kong, was delayed several times, seemingly in response to this and the Covid-19 pandemic. It was finally released in March of 2021 to positive reception from critics, was reportedly a huge hit on HBO Max, and became Warner Bros’ highest-grossing theatrical film of 2021. Now it appears that the people behind the Godzilla MonserVerse see at least part of the franchise’s future in streaming.
