‘Peacemaker’ Star Chukwudi Iwuji Calls His ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’ Character ‘Extremely Powerful’

Peacemaker star Chukwudi Iwuji shared a little hint at what we can expect to see from his character in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Chukwudi Iwuji can currently be seen on Peacemaker with the actor now working with James Gunn on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. No details are known about his MCU character yet, but some have thrown out the idea of Iwuji playing Silver Surfer in the upcoming sequel.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Chukwudi Iwuji revealed a new tidbit about his Marvel character:

“Powerful. (Laughs.) Extremely powerful. Complex. James and I were talking about it, but he’s certainly one of, if not the most complex characters we’ve seen in the freaking Marvel universe. So he’s deeply complex and deeply powerful, and I hope intriguing. I hope I bring that to it. (Laughs.)”

Here is the synopsis for James Gunn’s Peacemaker:

PEACEMAKER explores the continuing story of the character that John Cena reprises in the aftermath of executive producer James Gunn’s 2021 film The Suicide Squad – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it!

Peacemaker was created by James Gunn, who wrote all the episodes and directed five of them. The first season of the HBO Max series will consist of eight episodes, with Brad Anderson, Jody Hill, and Rosemary Rodriguez also directing episodes. Clint Mansell and Kevin Kiner also composed the DC show’s score.

The HBO Max series stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Chukwudi Iwuji, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick.

Peacemaker is now streaming on HBO Max, with new episodes dropping every Thursday. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters on May 23, 2023.
