A new concept design shows Henry Cavill return as Superman donning the classic suit and hairstyle.
Henry Cavill made his debut as Superman in Zack Snyder’s 2013 film Man of Steel. Although the film received mixed reviews from critics, fans really responded to his portrayal as Superman and looked forward to seeing him return in future projects. Henry Cavill would reprise his role as Kal-El in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017’s Justice League, the latter of which would then lead to Zack Snyder’s director’s cut that released onto HBO Max earlier this year.
The future of Henry Cavill as Superman remains somewhat uncertain, with no plans for a standalone Man of Steel sequel at this time. Warner Bros. is also looking to bring a new rebooted Superman movie starring a Black actor to the screen soon, which looks to be separate from the ongoing DC Extended Universe. Although nothing is confirmed regarding Henry Cavill’s possible return, that hasn’t stopped fans from expressing their hopes to see him in the cape again.
In concept artist Javier Sanchez’s case, he envisions Henry Cavill’s return as Superman in an interesting way. In this cool concept design, we see the actor donning a suit clearly taking inspiration from the classic design as seen from early comics. The suit harkens back to both Action Comics #1 and Max Fleischer’s designs. The concept design also depicts him in the iconic hairstyle made famous from previous portrayals of the character:

Henry Cavill was last seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Here is the synopsis:
“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”
The Snyder Cut stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, JK Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
