Henry Cavill’s Superman is reimagined with the Justice League star donning the classic comic book look with the iconic red trunks.
For Man of Steel, director Zack Snyder made the creative decision to remove the red underwear for Henry Cavill’s Superman suit. While the underwear-less Superman suit became prominent in DC Comics’ New 52 run before then, Cavill was the first to not wear them in live-action. Since then, other live-action Superman versions have followed with the modern look such as Tyler Hoechlin in the Arrowverse.
In Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Henry Cavill will be marking another milestone in terms of visual flair by bringing the black suit from Death of Superman to live-action. Because Cavill has become many fan’s quintessential Superman, some would like to see the 37-year-old actor in the red underwear at some point in the future. Snyder has shared images of Henry Cavill in the Christopher Reeve suit for screen tests from the past, but a new concept design from digital artist JPH takes it one step further.
