Shazam! Fury of the Gods director David. F Sandberg recently teased what’s to come in the upcoming sequel as filming continues.
With filming on Shazam! Fury of the Gods in full swing, David F. Sandberg found some time to answer questions on Instagram. During the Q&A, Sandberg offered an update, originally in Swedish, on how things are going so far:
“We’ve been filming for about two weeks now. Feels very good how costumes and scenery have become so far. There will be more action in this one as well, which will be interesting.”
The director was then asked if the sequel will be bigger or more self-contained, to which he responded:
“Scope is definitely bigger than the first movie.”
In another Instagram Story, David F. Sandberg also revealed plans to have a post-credits scene for Shazam! Fury of the Gods:
“There is a plan for that, though the film is not finished. We’ll see how it goes.”
Do you think the Shazam! Fury of the Gods post-credits scene will feature Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam? Let us know what you think in the comments!
Here is the official synopsis for the first Shazam! movie:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quick.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Djimon Hounsou.
Shazam! is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
