A new still from the third season of The Boys shows Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy looking heroic.
After months of teasing fans with faux promotional videos, Amazon Prime finally unveiled the first teaser for the third season of The Boys. The streaming service also revealed the release schedule for the season, confirming that the first three episodes will debut on June 3. As if that wasn’t enough to get fans of the satirical take on the superhero genre excited, a new look at Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy has been revealed.
Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, a riff on Captain America, has been described as the world’s first superhero. Soldier Bou led his own team of fighters dubbed the Payback during World War II. How exactly will the character appear in the modern, superhero-obsessed age? It’s hard to know as the take on the character is supposed to be radically different from the version seen in the comics.
The brand new still of Jensen Ackles’ patriotic hero shows him standing amongst the rubble, putting on the best hero face possible.
Lead star Jack Quaid also got into the reveals-fest by sharing a behind-the-scenes snap of his Hughie alongside Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher.
Here is the official synopsis for the second season of The Boys:
The even more intense, more insane season two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.
The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, and Colby Minifie, and Jensen Ackles.
