‘The Marvels’: Samuel L. Jackson Teases His Return As Nick Fury

Samuel L Jackson has teased his return as Nick Fury for Brie Larson’s The Marvels.

Samuel L Jackson cemented himself as one of the key characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008 when he appeared as Nick Fury in Iron Man. Since then, Jackson has appeared as the character eleven times during the last decade. Fury last appeared in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which ended with the reveal that he was disguised as a Skrull, and that the real Fury was in space. Well, it looks like Nick Fury is ready to get back into battle, as the iconic Avengers architect is set to return in Brie Larson’s The Marvels.

Captain Marvel star Brie Larson confirmed earlier this week that The Marvels has already started filming. Now, Samuel L Jackson has teased his return as Nicky Fury in the Captain Marvel sequel. Taking to Instagram, Jackson posted a photo of his stick-on facial hair, which makes up the character’s iconic goatee. He also posted two photos of himself wearing a shirt that shows Nick Fury being dusted as he calls Captain Marvel – a clear nod to the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

Seeing as The Marvels has already begun filming scenes involving Brie Larson, it’s safe to say that Samuel L Jackson has begun his as well. It’s unclear in what capacity Nick Fury will appear in the film, seeing as the Captain Marvel sequel is already stacked with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan. Jackson is expected to appear as Nick Fury in a substantial role in Disney Plus’ upcoming Secret Invasion series, which is set to begin filming soon.

Samuel L Jackson last appeared as Nick Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Here is the official synopsis for Spider-Man: Far From Home:

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Jackson) uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks. Spider-Man and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) join forces to fight the havoc unleashed across the continent but all is not as it seems.
