Jason Momoa is set to reprise his role as Arthur Curry in Warner Bros. and DC’s yet-to-be titled Aquaman sequel. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick is writing the script of Aquaman 2, with James Wan expected to return to the director’s chair. The film is currently set for a December 2022 release.

In the meantime, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman will next be seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut, which is coming to the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max. Here’s the original synopsis for the movie:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
