Avengers: Doomsday Runtime Update Is Great News for MCU Movie Fans

The latest update on the runtime for Avengers: Doomsday is good news for MCU movie fans.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie is currently scheduled to arrive at the end of this year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in 2027.

What is the Avengers: Doomsday runtime update?

While there’s been no announcement as of yet from Marvel regarding the official runtime of Avengers: Doomsday, scooper @MyTimeToShineHello is now reporting that the current cut of the film is three hours long.

This is only a rumor, and it should be treated as such at this time. Even if the report is accurate, there is likely still more editing and reshoots to be done, meaning the final cut will almost certainly not come in at exactly 180 minutes.

That being said, this report does give MCU fans at least some ideas what to expect. There have, of course, been multiple rumors regarding how long Doomsday will be — with one recent report suggesting that it could be up to three hours and 45 minutes long. In actuality, the Russos told Collider in 2025 that, while nothing was set in stone, Doomsday will likely be about two and a half hours long and Secret Wars will be somewhere in the three-hour range.

With a cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier/Professor X, Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, and more, Avengers: Doomsday will be released in United States theaters on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars is dated for December 17, 2027.
