Claire and Leon Are Back in Netflix’s Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness Teaser

Well, it appears that more incredible things are ahead of Resident Evil. Earlier this year, Netflix ordered a live-action TV adaptation of Capcom’s survival horror game. But the upcoming show won’t be the only thing fans of the franchise will be treated with. Recently, Capcom announced a CG anime series that will feature Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy, the protagonists of 1998’s Resident Evil 2. The upcoming series will debut on Netflix as well, but will be different from the live-action adaptation with Jade and Billie Wesker.

Now, the streaming service has released a teaser for the upcoming animated series. The characters are introduced in separate locations, so it’s unclear how they’ll come together. In 1998’s videogame, Leon is a rookie police officer who has to confront a zombie outbreak on his first day on the job. His path will cross with Claire’s, as she strives to save herself from the zombies.

The upcoming Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness series will be produced and supervised by Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi. The Japanese video game producer is responsible for bringing numerous titles in the Resident Evil series into existence. TMS Entertainment, which has birthed various anime series, will produce the series, while Quebico, led by Kei Miyamoto, the producer of Resident Evil: Vendetta, will be in charge of the full 3DCG animation production.

Netflix has yet to announce a debut date for the Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness series, but it will hit the streaming service in 2021.
