Clayface‘s surprise cameo has been revealed, but Batman fans shouldn’t expect the Dark Knight to appear. The massive update comes ahead of the DCU movie’s anticipated Friday debut.

An early review from The Times has confirmed that famous Welsh actor and comedian Rob Brydon makes a cameo appearance in Clayface. He plays a talk-show host in the film, which stars Tom Rhys Harries in the titular role. Brydon is mostly known for his roles in Gavin & Stacey, The Trip, and more.
If several Batman fans are still hoping for him to show up in the movie, there’s bad news for them. And there’s a solid reason why the Dark Knight won’t have any role in the film.
Why do some DCU fans think Batman will show up in Clayface?
Ahead of Clayface’s release, some fans speculated that Batman might appear in the story. It’s because the movie takes place in his home, Gotham City. Clayface is also one of Batman’s iconic comic-book adversaries. As a result, some fans hoped the film would tease Batman’s arrival in the DCU through a post-credits scene.
However, this possibility was recently ruled out. Reports following early screenings indicate that Clayface has neither a mid-credits scene nor a post-credits scene. This means fans may have to wait longer for the DCU’s first on-screen appearance of Batman.
The Dark Knight is expected to appear in the upcoming The Brave and the Bold. However, DC Studios has not officially announced its casting choice for the iconic superhero. Early reports have brought up prominent names, including Tom Brittney, but there’s been no confirmation so far. Andy Muschietti will serve as the director on the project.
Clayface, rated R, opens in North American theaters on October 23, 2026. The supporting cast includes David Dencik, Max Minghella, Eddie Marsan, and Joshua James.
