Disney Strikes Shocking Streaming Deal as Percy Jackson, Pixar Movies, & More Head to Netflix

Disney Entertainment and Netflix have reached a new content licensing agreement that will bring several Disney television series and movies to Netflix. The deal includes Disney+ originals, ABC shows, and films from Pixar and 20th Century Studios.

According to Variety, the agreement is nonexclusive and will give Netflix access to a selection of Disney-owned programming. The first major release is Percy Jackson and the Olympians, with its first two seasons arriving globally on Netflix on October 4.

The Netflix availability is scheduled for three months. Within that window, viewers can now watch the first two seasons before the third season premieres on Disney+ on November 20.

The agreement also includes ABC’s Will Trent. Seasons 1 through 4 of the procedural drama will arrive globally on Netflix on November 3. Other library series included in the arrangement are Felicity, Revenge, Army Wives, and Fresh Off the Boat, although availability can vary by region.

What other Disney movies are now headed to Netflix under the new deal?

The movie portion of the agreement includes titles from 20th Century Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Pixar. All five original theatrical Ice Age movies will begin streaming globally on Netflix on October 4. The timing comes ahead of the franchise’s next theatrical installment, Ice Age: Boiling Point, which is scheduled to open in theaters in February 2027. The Netflix release gives audiences access to the earlier films before the new chapter arrives.

Additional Disney and Pixar movies will join Netflix in early 2027. The confirmed titles include Pixar’s Soul, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Raya and the Last Dragon, and the science-fiction film Elio. The agreement does not remove these titles from Disney’s own streaming services. Licensed movies and series will continue to be available on Disney+ and Hulu while also appearing on Netflix.

For Netflix, the arrangement will bring recognizable franchises and established series. As for Disney, the new setup will add a distribution outlet while keeping titles on its own services.

The titles will be released on different dates rather than as one single catalog drop globally.
