Doctor Doom has made an unexpected deal ahead of Avengers: Doomsday‘s release in a new promotional video. The one-minute clip features the Marvel villain in an apocalyptic setting, akin to what fans can expect from the upcoming MCU movie.
The video is part of a collaboration between Marvel Studios and KFC UK&I. The clip opens with Doctor Doom towering over a city destroyed by battle, where all the fast-food restaurants have been destroyed.
But in the end, a KFC restaurant is shown untouched by the destruction. A voiceover says, “KFC has come to an agreement with Dr. Doom, and all it took was a burger worthy of his name.” It also introduces a Doctor Doom-inspired burger that will be available for a limited time.
According to Creative Salon, this collaboration will also introduce a limited-time Doctor Doom-inspired menu. It will also include limited-edition packaging in a dark, iron-riveted design featuring Doom’s mask, exclusive Colonel Sanders Cosplay Collection figurines, and in-store activations. This campaign is scheduled to roll out till January 31, 2027.
The crossover draws inspiration from the chaos surrounding Avengers: Doomsday
Rather than centering the promotional video on the core Marvel heroes, the MCU x KFC campaign uses its main antagonist to promote its product. This move draws heavily on the chaos that will surround Avengers: Doomsday, where Doom is heavily speculated to win the final battle.
The promotion arrived ahead of Avengers: Doomsday, which will see a multiversal collision as the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Avengers fight one another before they team up to battle Doctor Doom. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen, among others.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
