The end of Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s Venom run is just one day away. And to mark the occasion, Marvel has released a new video where the creators reflect on their long-running collaboration. They also tease what’s in store for the series’ landmark 200th issue.
Over the last three years, Cates and Stegman have dramatically changed what fans might have thought possible for Spider-Man’s symbiotic foe. In the process, they delivered some of Eddie Brock’s most compelling stories yet, expanding the history behind the symbiotes and presiding over two large-scale crossover events that spanned the entire Marvel Universe. And assuming they’re telling the truth, things are only going to get more bonkers in tomorrow’s finale.
“We’ve got some of the coolest images in the series coming up in 200,” said Stegman. “If you thought that Venom with a battle axe, with a starfield on his costume [and] glowing eyes was crazy, you haven’t seen much yet.”
“That’s the thing, we’re going to end this run the way that we started it,” added Cates. “By exploding everything you ever thought that you knew and setting the stage for something that’s truly and honestly going to change Eddie and the Marvel Universe forever.”
Venom #200 goes on sale tomorrow.
