Exclusive Preview: Excalibur #26stic Four: Life Story #5.

Betsy Braddock has been Captain Britain for almost two years, but her reign may be about to end. As part of her duties, Betsy had to protect the Starlight Citadel that allows Saturnyne to rule the multiverse. Betsy and Saturnyne also have long-standing enmity with each other, which led the Empress to make an attempt to destroy her own protector. Regardless, Betsy and Saturnyne now have a common enemy, even though they still hate each other. Excalibur #26.

The legendary wizard, Merlyn, has led a fanatical crusade to exterminate all mutants/witchbreed in Otherworld. And he’s also brought King Arthur back to lead his armies. Against Arthur, even Betsy’s team has been forced to retreat. Now, Merlyn has captured the Starlight Citadel, and Betsy has barely escaped his trap with Saturnyne in tow.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Excalibur #26, writer Tini Howard and artist Marcus To pick up with Merlyn plotting an even more ambitious move against his enemies. Meanwhile, Betsy and Saturnyne return to their allies. However, things look bleak for Betsy’s side, thanks to Saturnyne’s actions and choices.

Here’s the official description from Marvel.

“OTHERWORLD FALLS!

Merlyn and King Arthur have taken the Starlight Citadel. Saturnyne still lives – but not for long. Betsy Braddock must decide once and for all where her loyalties lie. It’s all been building to this – the fantasy ends here and reality rushes in. There is no haven for the witchbreed. Can they hold on to their champion, here at the twilight of an age?”
