Fallout Season 2: Justin Theroux’s Character Explained

After a massive success, Fallout is returning for another season on Amazon Prime Video. But there’s one thing that seems to have caught the attention of the fans of the first season. Justin Theroux’s appearance in the Fallout Season 2 trailer has viewers wondering about his role in the show. Is he playing a new character or replacing an old one?

Here’s what we know about his role in Fallout Season 2.

Who is Justin Theroux playing and replacing in Fallout Season 2 trailer?

Fallout is a dystopian sci-fi series based on a popular game franchise of the same name. The show features Ella Purnell and Walter Goggins in the lead roles. It is adapted by Jonathan Nolan, who is also known for co-writing movies like Interstellar, The Dark Knight, and The Prestige. The events in the second season are set in 2296, which is about 15 years after Fallout: New Vegas, but is still part of the same timeline.

Justin Theroux is the latest addition to the cast in the new season. He is going to be playing Mr. House, replacing Rafi Silver from Season 1. Mr. House was only glimpsed in the previous season, so the change of actors shouldn’t be too jarring. The reason behind the change of actors is currently unknown.

In the trailer, we see clips of The Ghoul’s pre-nuclear war days, when he was still Cooper Howard. While in Las Vegas, Howard meets Mr. House, who is seen sitting in front of multiple computer screens.

Rober Edwin House, also known as Mr. House, is one of the antagonists in Fallout: New Vegas, released in 2010. He is the leader of the New Vegas Strip in the Mojave Wasteland, acting as self-appointed President, CEO, and Sole Proprietor. Anticipating a nuclear war, he makes plans to survive. He connects himself to an advanced life-support system and a supercomputer. He succeeds in his plans and continues to rule over New Vegas in the post-nuclear war era.

Since the events in the show take place much later than the game, fans of the game are curious about the character. They want to know how he is going to be portrayed in the new season.

If you’re curious about it too, you can stream Fallout Season 2 on December 17 on Prime Video.
