Marvel is rumored to be working on a project based around its equivalent of the Justice League. The recent rumor suggests that Marvel Studios is gradually developing plans for a Squadron Supreme project for the MCU, which will be released after Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.

Renowned VFX artist, illustrator, and entertainment insider James Mack has claimed that Marvel fans could finally see a live-action Squadron Supreme project come to fruition after the MCU’s soft reboot following Avengers: Secret Wars. Mack teased the possibility in his latest Patreon update, which also featured several other speculations regarding the MCU’s next saga.
Regarded by many fans as Marvel’s answer to the Justice League, the core of the superhero team features multiple characters with an uncanny resemblance to their DC counterparts. The team is led by Hyperion, who is comparable to Superman if the Kryptonian hero was raised by the government. Meanwhile, Power Princess can be seen as a darker take on DC’s Wonder Woman, with Doctor Spectrum serving as an alternate version of Green Lantern.
Squadron Supreme also has a Flash of its own, in the form of Blur, along with a gender-swapped version of Aquaman known as Amphibian. The team even features a Batman-like character, with Nighthawk playing a Caped Crusader-type role in the group.
In addition to the narrative alterations, Squadron Supreme also has a much more flexible moral compass than the Justice League and shares several similarities with the Seven from The Boys franchise.
If the online rumors turn out to be true, it would be the first live-action film or TV series centered around Squadron Supreme. However, Marvel has yet to share any official update on any project involving the team. Avengers: Secret Wars is currently scheduled to be released on December 17, 2027.
