Marvel’s Wolverine Game Release Date Revealed & It’s Soon

Insomniac Games has finally confirmed when players can step into the claws of Logan. After years of limited updates and mounting speculation, the studio revealed the official launch date for Marvel’s Wolverine. The announcement brings long-awaited clarity to one of PlayStation’s most closely watched upcoming exclusives.

Insomniac announces September release date for Marvel’s Wolverine game

Insomniac Games has announced that Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on September 15, 2026. The release date was shared in a social media post stating, “Let’s cut to the chase: Marvel’s Wolverine launches September 15, 2026.”

Sony also posted, “Who’s ready for September 15, 2026? Wishlist Marvel’s #WolverinePS5 now.”

The announcement was accompanied by promotional artwork featuring Wolverine in an action pose with claws extended against a yellow background. Logos for Marvel, PlayStation Studios, and Insomniac Games were visible in the image. A six-second teaser was also released alongside the confirmation.

Marvel’s Wolverine will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5. The game was first teased at The Game Awards in 2021 with a brief cinematic reveal. It remained largely absent from updates until a trailer last year revealed various locations and confirmed Liam McIntyre as Wolverine’s actor.

The PlayStation Blog previously described the title as a “global thriller” and named characters including Mystique and Omega Red. A description of the game states, “As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes–unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination–to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be.”

Insomniac Games previously developed the Marvel’s Spider-Man titles for PlayStation and later brought them to PC. The studio will release Marvel’s Wolverine on September 15, 2026, ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI, which launches on November 19, 2026. Raven Software developed the last standalone Wolverine game, 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, as a tie-in to the film of the same name.
