Maxwell Lord Actor Sean Gunn Reveals How Much Brother James Gunn Tells Him About DCU’s Future

Sean Gunn is getting candid about everything that James Gunn has told him about DCU’s future. As the co-chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios, where he serves as the principal creative leader of the DCU franchise alongside producer Peter Safran, it’s pretty interesting how much James confides in his brother about the DC Universe.

When ComingSoon’s Tyler Treese recently asked him if the mastermind filmmaker “actually tell(s) you about the DCU’s future and plans, or is he as secretive with his own brother as he is with the others,” Sean candidly replied, “No, I get a little bit of a peek under the curtain.”

He continued, “I don’t always know everything, but part of that is just because he’s so busy and we don’t get to see each other as much as we would like, I think. But he usually will give me a little rundown of the immediate future, like what the next six months to a year maybe that they’re working on and stuff that they’re putting together.”

What has Sean Gunn’s Maxwell Lord done in the DCU so far?

In the DC Universe, Sean’s character Maxwell Lord has debuted as the CEO of LordTech and a morally gray sponsor of the superhero team known as the “Justice Gang.” Lord runs the company as an altruistic-leaning company that backs heroes like Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, and Mister Terrific.

While he made his debut as Lord in James’ Superman film, Sean’s character appeared in Season 2 of Peacemaker as well, where his group attempted to recruit Peacemaker. And that’s not all.

As the actor confirmed, James has much planned for Lord in the DCU‘s near future. Sean revealed, “I have gotten the go-ahead to say that we will be seeing Maxwell Lord in at least two more projects coming up, but I’m not at liberty to say which ones those are.”

However, he did add that he “can tell you that I am having really great, great fun playing Maxwell Lord. It is one of my favorite things that I’ve done in my career. And I’m excited to share all that stuff with an audience. It’s been really cool.”
