When Doctor Doom took over the role of Sorcerer Supreme, Stephen Strange did not sit idly by. He journeyed to the realm of Asgard, seeking the blessing of Thor to become Sorcerer Supreme of that realm. Having accomplished this, he now faces new challenges and a journey into mystery in a new monthly Doctor Strange series.

The new Doctor Strange monthly comic will be written by Infinity Watch writer Derek Landy. The interior artwork will be provided by Fantastic Four artist Ivan Fiorelli. Additionally, every issue will feature a cover by legendary fantasy artist Alex Horley.
Three variant covers and three style sheets for the new series may be viewed below.
Doctor Strange will have few allies in his new series.
The new Doctor Strange series will find the magician in dire straits. While he hoped to use the power of his new position to save Earth from Doctor Doom, he becomes cut off from Midgard. This is due to Loki‘s recent murder of Thor and the Allfather’s subsequent rebirth as a mortal. It doesn’t help matters that Stephen had allied with Loki in trying to claim the post as Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard or that the Asgardians have little trust of earthly wizards.
Despite this, Stephen will find himself committed to stopping a war between realms. In this case, the conflict involves the angels of Heven, the elves of Alfheim, and an ancient coffin best left buried. His main ally in this battle will be Thor’s sister Angela, making her grand return to Marvel Comics after some time away.

“Jumping into Doctor Strange’s world has been pure artistic joy,” Fiorelli said. “It’s so different from anything I’ve worked on before, and it lets me go wild with the weird, magical elements that make his stories so unique. On top of that, getting to design new characters from scratch is an incredible honor, knowing they’ll join the Marvel Universe forever.”
Doctor Strange #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on December 3, 2025.
