Yet another original X-Men star is now expected to appear in Marvel Studios‘ Avengers: Doomsday.
Last year, Marvel shocked the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom when it announced that six legacy actors from 20th Century Fox’s X-Men film series would appear in Doomsday: Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and James Marsden as Cyclops. Fans were quick to notice some major omissions, but it now seems that Marvel was trying to keep a few surprises under wraps.
Avengers: Doomsday will reportedly include Storm
Noted scooper The Beyond Reporter has reaffirmed in a new post on X that Halle Berry will appear as Storm in Avengers: Doomsday. The report comes less than a day after the scooper also confirmed that Famke Janssen would return as Jean Grey. If true, it means that Doomsday will have almost reunited all the major characters from the original X-Men trilogy, with just Shawn Ashmore’s Iceman, Anna Paquin’s Rogue, and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine still missing.
Storm has been rumored for some time to appear in Doomsday. However, fans were unsure if the rumors were true, considering that Berry stated in April 2025 that fans wouldn’t see her name on a future Doomsday chair announcement. “Keep waiting. It’s not going to be there,” she remarked at the time. A second Doomsday chair announcement livestream ultimately never happened.
While there have been little to no rumors about Iceman and Rogue appearing in Doomsday, there have been conflicting reports about Jackman returning as Wolverine. The most recent rumor comes from scooper MyTimeToShineHello, who claimed that Jackman’s Wolverine will be part of a scene in Doomsday with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man that will “top” the moment in Spider-Man: No Way Home when Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker tells Maguire and Tom Holland’s characters that he loves them.
All will be revealed when Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
