Street Fighter fans are already campaigning for a sequel ahead of the movie’s opening weekend. Despite its low early review scores, fans are pushing for a follow-up and urging the studio to roll out the teased sequel.
As of this article, Street Fighter has a 42% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it has earned an 81% on Popcornmeter, and many fans on X are demanding a sequel teased at the end of the movie. For instance, @melishee wrote, “Attention everyone! Your mission, especially today on official opening day: Go see Street Fighter as many times as possible so that we can get a sequel.”
While another fan, @chxvalry, added, “I’m doing whatever it takes to get a Street Fighter sequel.” Additionally, @RainbowMikaFan wrote, “Man, a lot of people are hating on the Street Fighter movie, huh? It was not that bad. I would love to see a sequel tbh; it was such a fun watch, especially as an SF fan! It’s def not a very ‘serious’ movie, and some of the character interpretations are weird, but def worth a watch.”

What happens at the end of the new Street Fighter movie?
The Street Fighter movie wraps with an open ending, with the World Warrior tournament concluding in chaos. Towards the end, Ken Masters drops out of the finale match and sets off to rescue Ryu from M. Bison. As a result, Joe wins by default; however, Akuma arrives, claims the title, and kills him.
Ryu then confronts Akuma and defeats him, but Satsui no Hado energy nearly consumes him. To save Ryu, Ken successfully uses a Hadouken. During the commotion, Bison and his henchmen capture an injured Akuma to extract his powers and escape.
Moreover, to track down Bison, Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Dan, Guile, and Dhalsim join forces, setting up the first tease of a potential sequel. A second tease arrives in an animated mid-credits scene showing Bison visiting Sagar as he trains in anger.
